New & Upcoming Releases – September 2016
August saw lots of new arrivals in the store. That was just the beginning of the flood, however. We’re expecting even more new games in September.
If you see a game you want in the descriptions to come, you can ask Tina to preorder one for you and we’ll call you when it comes in.
King of New York: Power Up!
(mid-September)
With King of New York: Power Up!, Captain Fish, Sheriff, and their fellow monsters now have two unique sets of evolution cards (112 cards total) for both King of New York and King of Tokyo — and a new challenger joins them: Mega Shark!
With this expansion, rolling 3 hearts (not necessarily on the same turn) allows you to draw a card and access violent new powers. What’s more, fans of King of Tokyo: Power Up! can now mix monsters from both games to compete for supremacy over Tokyo with evolution cards.
Pandemic: Reign of Cthulhu
(mid September)
Beings of ancient evil, known as Old Ones, are threatening to break out of their cosmic prison and awake into the world. Everything you know and love could be destroyed by chaos and madness. Can you and your fellow investigators manage to find and seal every portal in time? Hurry before you lose yourself to insanity.
In Pandemic: Reign of Cthulhu, you’ll experience the classic Pandemic gameplay with an horrific twist that’ll have you face ten Old Ones, each threatening the world with their unique powers.
Codenames: Pictures
(mid to late September)
Two rival spymasters know the secret identities of their agents in the field. Their teammates know the agents only by their CODENAMES.
Now, Codenames can be played with pictures! Whimsical, mind-twisting illustrations are used instead of word cards. Can you find one word that ties your team`s pictures together?
Pre-order now with Tina to reserve your free Codenames Pictures Promo Tile.
Valley of the Kings: Last Rites
(mid-September)
When you die, you can take it with you!
Take on the role of Egyptian nobles at the time of the pharaohs, preparing for death and burial in the Valley of the Kings. In order to fill your tomb with food, amulets, and other treasures, you acquire cards laid out in a pyramid shape. When you buy cards at the base of the pyramid, it crumbles, bringing higher cards down to the base where you can purchase them. The pyramid resets each round with new offerings.
You score only for cards that you remove from your deck and stash in your tomb, so if you keep using valuable cards for their effects and don’t entomb them before the game ends, you could lose out on big points! Whoever collects the most valuable artifacts in her tomb wins.
Valley of the Kings: Last Rites, the third standalone Valley of the Kings title, introduces various citizens and roles of people in the ancient Egyptian kingdom.
We’re planning a Demo Day for this, scheduled tentatively for Saturday, September 10. As soon as we receive the demo copy, we’ll set the date officially and announce it on our web site, Meetup and Facebook.
Legendary DBG: Deadpool
(mid-October)
Five New Heroes! Four New Schemes! Two New Villain Groups! Two New Masterminds! One Insanely Fun Expansion!
The Merc With a Mouth brings his charming personality, as well as a few friends, to the Legendary universe with a 100-card, small box expansion that allows you to play with – and against – other players to defeat the nefarious threats aligned against Deadpool!
Pandemic: Iberia
(mid-October)
Welcome to the Iberian Peninsula! Set in 1848, Pandemic: Iberia asks you to take on the roles of nurse, railwayman, rural doctor, sailor, and more to find the cures to malaria, typhus, the yellow fever, and cholera.
From Barcelona to Lisboa, you will need to travel by carriage, by boat, or by train to help the Iberian populace. While doing so, distributing purified water and developing railways will help you slow the spread of diseases in this new version of Pandemic.
Discover a unique part of the world during a historically significant time period: the construction of the first railroad in the Iberian Peninsula during the Spring of Nations.
Betrayal at House on the Hill: Widow’s Walk
(mid-October)
The house on the hill has a wicked reputation. Those who dare to darken its door often leave steeped in madness and despair — if they leave at all.
Now the horror reaches new heights with Widow’s Walk, the first-ever expansion for the critically acclaimed board game Betrayal at House on the Hill. The house is expanded with the addition of twenty new rooms, including the roof, a previously unexplored floor. Also in its halls you will find new monsters, items, omens, events, and fifty brand-new haunts, penned by lead developer Mike Selinker’s all-star cast of contributors from the world of gaming and entertainment. In Widow’s Walk, terror and panic are taken to a whole new level.
Enter if you dare. Exit if you can…
SeaFall: A Legacy Game
